Topsfield is one of the oldest towns in Massachusetts, incorporated in 1650, and its landscape preserves an extraordinary record of colonial and revolutionary-era history. This interactive map is the first phase of an ongoing project by the Topsfield Historical Society to document, locate, and share the town’s heritage through old photos and information about its historic buildings and memorial sites.

Explore the map to discover historic structures that have survived from Topsfield's early times, and to pay tribute to the men of Topsfield who answered the call during the American Revolution — many of whom are buried within our town's historic cemeteries.

This project will continue to grow. New sites, photographs, historical notes, and documentary sources will be added in future phases as research progresses. Contributions from residents and researchers are welcomed.
