The John Kimball, Jr. Memorial Trust
Scholarship Program
The Topsfield Historical Society and the John J. Kimball, Jr. Memorial Trust announce acceptance of 2008 applications to the Trust. Mr. Kimball was Topsfield’s Town Moderator for 28 years, a partner in the Boston law firm of Hale and Dorr, long time Director of the Topsfield Historical Society, and a Marine Corps Veteran of World War II and Korea. The purpose of the Trust is to provide scholarships and grant funding for tuition, books, and other educational and research expenses to both undergraduate and graduate students, college, university, and graduate school instructors, professors, and others who have excelled in and/or have a passion for the study of history and related disciplines. Applicants must reside in, or have a substantial connection to, Topsfield, Massachusetts. The administration of the program is undertaken by the Topsfield Historical Society. Applicants may apply by writing a letter of request to the Scholarship Committee Topsfield Historical Society P O Box 323Topsfield, MA 01983 stating the reason for the request, the amount desired, their connection to Topsfield, and other information deemed pertinent. Use of a Letter of Request, which can be found on the Society’s website, www.topsfieldhistory.org is encouraged.
Deadline to apply is April 15, 2008.
